Oh, and this is Gideon, owner of the charming, idiosyncratic shambles that is Gene on Kingsway and Main St. in Vancouver, and also the namesake of my dog, kinda*.  You can see how the dog is kinda Gideonesque. Photo courtesy  my lovely friends Dane and Veronika Baspaly, who were kind enough to send this ‘cause I think they knew I missed coffee from Gene, with them. ( *I also just like old-timey people names on dogs)
